TangleTown Trio specializes in classical Americana; music inspired by the many unique genres of American music, including jazz, folk, and classic musical theatre. Founded in 2010, TangleTown Trio is the happy outgrowth of three friends, all enjoying successful solo careers, coming together to create something unique and different. The music of TangleTown, while classically oriented, strives to be immediately accessible and appealing to modern audiences, often featuring the works of living composers. TangleTown’s critically acclaimed debut CD, ‘Song Nouveau,’ has been heard on radio programs in the U.S. and Canada, and showcases new compositions by TangleTown’s own Sarah Mattox and guest composer Mark Olivieri.

Award-winning BMI composer Bern Herbolsheimer said of the album,
…the performances are just superb. Each produces a beautiful, consistent and seamless sound - and together they blend into something much more than a trio; it is more like a single person with three simultaneous voices. They clearly all share the same artistic inclination and purpose. I will simply say that "I Wonder How an Island Feels" is just incredible. Yes, the performance is sublime, each adding and contributing to a very satisfying whole. More so, however, is the just plain beauty of the music. It is haunting and keeps with one for a long, long time. The words are nearly Dickinsonian in their power and depth and economy.

TangleTown Trio has been a guest artist on the internationally acclaimed Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour, and KING FM’s Northwest Focus Live with Sean MacLean, as well as several other local radio and television programs. The trio has presented programming for the Oyster Bay Distinguished Artists Concert Series in New York, the Sunriver Music Festival, the Yakima Symphony and Yakima Valley Museum, Asbury University, Transylvania University, the Governor’s Chamber Music Series, the Water Music Festival, and the First Sundays Concert Series on Bainbridge Island. This versatile group has also performed their cabaret program at the Triple Door in Seattle, Natasha’s in Lexington, Kentucky, and in the Panache Jazz Series on Vashon Island.
